Medical Practice Makeover Initiative

The Medical Practice Makeover Initiative is more than a slogan. It’s a promise to small, independent medical practices that meet certain criteria, that help is on the way in the form of $5,000 grants, robust resources, and staff support. The initiative has transformed more than 30 practices since it began in early 2022. Applications are reviewed and recipients selected each quarter. Learn more and submit your application.

Peer-to-Peer

LACMA has partnered with Physician Coach Support which is a free and confidential, physician-led platform in which any MD/ DO can access peer support seven days a week via Zoom.

Physician Coach Support was founded by a physician to help alleviate the stressors physicians deal with, by having the ability to easily speak to a peer in a confidential manner. All physicians in this platform are also certified life coaches so this allows you to speak to somebody that has been trained to help you gain some awareness of your thoughts or feelings that may be causing you suffering or distress.

Billing & Reimbursement Tools

The California Medical Association's (CMA) Center for Economic Services (CES) empowers physicians by providing resources and guidance to improve the success of your medical practice. CES is staffed by experts with a combined experience of over 125 years in medical practice operations, and over the past 11 years, CES has successfully recouped more than $30 million from payors on behalf of our physician members. Whether it’s identifying and fighting unfair payment practices, improving the efficiency of your practice or guiding physicians through the contract evaluation and negotiation process, CMA has tools and resources to help.

LACMA members can call on CMA’s practice management experts for free one-on-one help with contracting, billing, and payment problems. Reimbursement Helpline: (800) 786-4262 | Email Us

Legal Resources

The California Medical Association's (CMA) Center for Legal Affairs defends the rights of physicians in the courts and works closely with other CMA advocacy centers to influence health policy created by the policymakers, regulatory agencies and the private sector.
